What to expect during the treatment
Before the treatment, the specialist examines the area, determines your phototype and sets the laser accordingly. No numbing cream is needed — the method is painless. A special glide gel is applied to the skin, and moles and tattoos are covered with a white pencil, a patch or a shield. The areas are treated one by one; a sound signal means the planned area is done. Right after the treatment the skin may turn slightly red, which fades within minutes, and there is no swelling. All that is left is to wipe off the gel — and you can get back to your day with no restrictions.
Preparing for the treatment
- Shave the treatment area with a razor 24 hours before the session
- Do not apply creams, oils, lotions or alcohol-based products for 24 hours before
- Avoid active tanning and solariums for 3 days before the treatment
- For 2–3 days, use no hair removal method other than shaving
Duration
Duration depends on the area treated.
Expected results
- Around 50–60% of hair is removed after the first session, depending on the area
- The stubble that appears within a few days falls out on its own, usually within two to three weeks
- On average, 5–6 sessions are enough to remove hair completely in the chosen area
- The number of sessions is individual — it depends on the area, hair color and hormonal background
Aftercare
- Keep to the recommended interval between treatments: 4 weeks between the 1st and 2nd, then 6 weeks; your specialist sets the exact interval and number of sessions
- Avoid alcohol-based and moisturizing products (creams, lotions, etc.) for 3 days
- Avoid tanning and solariums for 3 days before and after the treatment
- Avoid saunas and steam baths for 3 days
- In case of redness or irritation, apply Panthenol or Bepanthen
- Do not tweeze, sugar or wax — shaving only
